One of my top ten driving-in-the-left-lane songs is ‘’Once in a Lifetime” by the Talking Heads. I love the line, “And you may ask yourself, well, how did I get here?”. Such a great song! For me, it’s always been one of the songs that makes me think on my life, and today it got me thinking about Magna LS and all we’ve accomplished since 2007. 

We closed our first year in business with about 20 employees and today we have over 500 amazing people working with us. So let me try to explain the how…. Like a comic book hero, we have an origin story and ours is a great one. In our case, we were like The Avengers. I’m a Marvel fan, and instead of Captain America blazing the way, we had Bob Ackerman. Trust me, it’s no small thing to leave the security of a reliable paycheck and hang a shingle on a door to start a new business. His superpower “VISION” inspired us to take the leap. The truth is, without Bob’s ability to pick a winning team and chart our course in the lit support space, you would have never heard of Magna Legal Services. So there you go. Bob Ackerman is a Magna LS hero.

This issue of MagnaFYI is dedicated to Bob; my friend, father-in-law, leader and partner. I still can’t believe how we got here!
