Friends of Magna LS,

Our latest seminar, "Streamlining Relationships with Outside Counsel", was an incredible success thanks to a great roster of panelists, presenters, attendees and another round of original topics developed by Richard Fabian of The RiverStone Group. However, I have to report that my weather channel app certainly didn't help quell my typical preconference anxiety.

For starters, I moved the event from The Ritz Carlton Golf Resort to their beach resort so everyone could enjoy some Florida sun. I thought that a change of scenery would be fun. What's not to like when you're sitting on the beautiful beach on the Gulf of Mexico, right? Well, my weather app's ten day forecast of rain was all I could OCD over for the days leading up to the conference and unfortunately they were dead on with their rain prediction for every day we were there.

While conferences generally address one particular practice area or topic, Magna Legal Services' seminar series consistently provide an exquisite setting for guest speakers, responder panelists and attorney attendees to network and discuss best practices centered around the theme- "Streamlining Relationships with Outside Counsel." These conferences focus on bringing together various stakeholders in the litigation process in a format that facilitates the free exchange of information between these groups. We also "focus group" these seminars, in an effort to provide more insight on what "drivers" are present in our guests' daily work life.

This year's event in Naples, Florida was tweaked in a number of ways. A new format was introduced with two panels presenting on day one and three panels on day two. This allowed for plenty of opportunities for networking, eating and drinking between the intellectual discussions. Unfortunately, Mother Nature also forced some last minute changes to the conference agenda. While we would have all preferred to lounge under the Florida sun, we had to make do with the Ritz's indoor amenities as torrential storms raged on outside. Despite the literal damper on our events, the conference still received rave reviews and participation by attendees was at an all-time high.
